Ony

 Ony Mask
Inspired by japanese culture, I made an Ony mask, Ony meaning demon.
I made it with clay, then painted it with oil colors.
These mask represents the face of an Ony, and it is said that when you see the face of one of these demons only misfortune will come, then death. This motif is a way to say " hold back, you don't want to mess with me" and is also used for tattoos.

The shadow

                                                             The shadow
Not quite suggestive for the atmosphere of the work, the shadow represents a space in our subconscious where we discharge our negative emotions\thoughts
It is an oil painting made in aprox 2015, a symbolist suprearealist painting.
Inspired by Carl Jung writings, this work illustrates the discharged emotions that after a long time spent in "the shadow " they tend to show up under different forms of behaviours.
Like the cocoon from which the butterfly rise, so are the negative thoughts  that show up. Here is a optimistic point of view, in which all the discharched emotions will come eventualy at surface in forms of learned lessons and after being accepted and understood, they will help in development of the individual
The species of the butterflies are not chosen randomly, but with a purpose, so the central moth is a Moon Moth, the Moon itself being a symbol for the subconsious, and being in antithesis with the other butterfly, the Sun Butterfly, which is the conscious, the awaken.

Happy Vagabonds

Happy Vagabonds

These are the dogs from an animal shelter  from Baia Mare, Romania, for which I volunteered in the past.
The works are made in dry pastel, and some of them are dogs from the shelter, some are other commissions that I made to help the shelter with a part of the profit.

In these works I used the technique of  cyanotype, which consist in preparing the paper with a solution that makes it photosensitive then when exposed at sun it makes the paper blue where is revealed; the drawing above is made on a plastic, then it was put on the prepared paper and left outside in the sun, so where it was shadow from the lines on the plastic, the paper was left blank, and where it was exposed the paper is turning blue,
In these works I wanted to relationate with the general statement, that life has become a source of energy like a battery, and people are treated just like a disposal object. So I took images with my closest friends, from different times when we were together and objectivised them, using a geometrical form of drawing, thus taking away personality traits, and leaving a cold mechanical process of representation, just like in a project for an object

I rely on the idea that life alone is the most precious thing; unfortunately it is not valued enough in our times, maybe because of the economic system,  that puts "profit" above any moral law, and  people are seen as batterries.
There is Life in everything, and every person, object, place or atmosphere tell us something, so I look to find that in every place. If i see something and it  makes me feel something, has a meaning for me, I try to make a work of art that can give the people who look at it the same feeling I got for that specific thing.
In consequence, I don't have stable themes to follow, somehow I am working with all that I find right now.
Also, that means that I don't have a personal style yet, but it is developing in something that is based on the atmosphere of the work. I prefer working with acrylics and ink, in many layers to make more nuances of different colors, like in the picture above.
Even if I don't have contoured a personal stile, the originality is there because I interact directly with the subjects of my work; knowing the persons or the places, so I can describe in my works all traces of personality that they posses.
